SCIA Engineer WEBINAR

The end of black-box Concrete Design, with SCIA Engineer 16.
Thursday, October 06, 2016.

The design of concrete structures has often been a task for which engineers were faced with a dilemma. They could use spreadsheets or hand calculations to be able to check every intermediate step – but that is not the fastest way to proceed in larger projects and may pose quality assurance issues. Or they could decide to use a 3D structural analysis & design software, but then operate with some kind of black-box that they had to trust.

This dilemma comes to an end with SCIA Engineer 16 and its fully transparent design of reinforced concrete beams & columns: all intermediate calculation steps are documented, complete with the applied mathematical formulas! Moreover, the logic of the user interface was streamlined and more robust and versatile algorithms are now available.

Join this webinar to get an overview of the new tools and to learn how to design a frame with beams & columns:

  • Definition of settings and buckling length
  • Assessment of column slenderness
  • Design of required reinforcement
  • Input of real rebars
  • Performing detailed ULS & SLS checks
