The design of concrete structures has often been a task for which engineers were faced with a dilemma. They could use spreadsheets or hand calculations to be able to check every intermediate step – but that is not the fastest way to proceed in larger projects and may pose quality assurance issues. Or they could decide to use a 3D structural analysis & design software, but then operate with some kind of black-box that they had to trust.
